Rural Waste Service Centers

Rural Waste Service Centers are designated places for residents living in unincorporated Leon County to drop off their garbage and recycling. From there, the garbage is transported to the Leon County Transfer Station. The centers are located at the following locations:

Household Garbage-Such as kitchen waste.

Recyclables-see Recycling

Yard Waste-such as leaves, grass clippings and tree limbs

Bulky Household Items-such as furniture, mattresses (2 per trip), bicycles, etc.

White Goods-such as refrigerators, freezers, water heaters, washers, dryers, window a/c units (2 per trip)

Up to 4 tires are accepted

LIMITED household hazardous waste: call 606-1803 for information about disposal of used motor oil, paints, fuels, solvents, pesticides, corrosives, etc.

No Commercial Waste-such as those from lawn services, tree trimmers, appliance repair shops, or automotive shops

NO C & D:  No building, construction, roofing, or framing materials, such as fencing, concrete rubble, plywood, boards, duct work, carpet or padding

No automotive parts, lawnmowers, satellite dishes, or children's' play sets, central heating/air units, heat pumps, air handlers or compressors

Please have all garbage separated into the five categories of Household Garbage, Recyclables, Yard Waste, Bulky Household Items, and White Goods before you arrive at the waste service center.

RURAL WASTE SERVICE CENTERS ARE FOR RESIDENTIAL WASTE AND ONLY FOR RESIDENTS LIVING IN UNINCORPORATED LEON COUNTY.

CUSTOMERS MUST OBTAIN A PERMIT TO USE THE RURAL WASTE SERVICE CENTERS
Permits are free.  Permits are issued by Center attendants and at the Solid Waste Management Facility. 
To receive a permit you must bring your Driver’s License, Vehicle Tag Registration AND Proof of Residency such as a Tax Bill or Utility Bill or Voter Registration Card.

LOADS SHOULD BE NO MORE THAN 1/2 A PICKUP OR TRAILER AT ONE TIME

OVER-SIZED LOADS OF ANY MATERIAL WILL BE DIRECTED TO MARPAN RECYCLING, 6020 WOODVILLE HWY.
TIPPING FEES WILL APPLY

NO UNLOADING HALF AN OVER-SIZED LOAD
