Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath should speak
volumes to we who live along the gulf coast, "it can
happen here."
Commissioner Rackleff went to storm-ravaged areas to
join in the clean up, and learn the extent of the
devastation for himself. He became part of a
coalition of local government leaders who want to better
prepare their localities for natural disasters, and
learn from what is happening along the Mississippi and
Louisiana coast. He continues to be a part of the
Restoration Project and attends its meetings and
workshops.
